LA Meets West Des Moines

LA Meets West Des Moines

We knew partnering with this client would be a good fit when they brought the whole family to the first appointment to be a part of the action! This needed to be a functional, family friendly space while highlighting light & bright textiles, natural wood, and the vision this client had for their custom Black Birch home.

You walk into the space and are immediately welcomed by all the natural light pouring through the windows. We paired a Cisco Brothers Laguna Sectional in a washable, casual heavy linen with a hand-knotted 100% wool rug for this high traffic area. The Laguna has always been on our bucket list, you don't just see an armless sectional every day, but these clients were the perfect fit for this look.

The Bates Coffee Table in burnt brass finish was the perfect tie to bring in the leather chairs and sofa in the room.

We were so excited to hear about all of the natural wood this client wanted to incorporate for their kitchen. We searched for weeks for the perfect raw looking table. After a small heartbreak discovering a Belgian Antique table wouldn't be the right long term fit due to a stain match, we landed on the Malibu Dining Table, a solid white oak table with an organic aesthetic that didn't sacrifice any durability.  The cool white oak tone of this table flowed beautifully with this floor (some oak tables can be much too warm!) We paired this with black Primm Matte Dining Chairs to create a nice contrast.

This family needed an abundance of seating, with an importance of having stools with backs for small children. We thought the Muestra Black Teak Counter Stools would be the perfect fit to seat this island! We love how this space feels so open and communal, the perfect hosting spot.

It wouldn't be Amethyst if we didn't throw a one-of-a-kind rug in somewhere! The Mombasa Vintage Rug is in front of the sink -- 100% wool is the material we always recommend for places that are high traffic and have the possibility of getting wet.  Wool rugs can get wet and handle an occasional drop of spaghetti sauce.  Simply clean with a clear dishwashing detergent and water!

We couldn't be happier for this family. We are always so delighted to work with a space that has perfect bone structure like this!
