There's nothing better than a cool, cozy basement on a hot summer day.

We loved helping furnish our designer friend @joelleelainedesign's Des Moines area home. With comfy seating, plenty of pillows, and a larger than life projector screen, her basement makes for the perfect retreat.

We love Joelle's beautiful woodwork on the basement ceiling, drawing the eye up and adding both character and warmth to the space. Gorgeous family portraits that line the walls set a playful, fun-loving tone to the room. 

We recommended a beautiful slipcovered Cisco Brothers Loft sectional, perfect for relaxing with its oversized dimensions. A mix of cream and off-white pillows add pops of warm contrast and coziness.

In selecting a coffee table, we loved this family-friendly rich leather topped ottoman. The black detailing also complements the round side table.

A second round side table features a concrete-finish and an oval design pattern, which adds interest and helps break up sharp edges and corners in the room.

We're so excited for Joelle's family and all of the memories they'll continue to make in their lovely basement.
