Bucket list alert!  I had the opportunity this past weekend to visit the inaugural Kips Bay Dallas Decorator's Show House and oh my gosh -- it exceeded my wildest imaginations!  The stars aligned that I happened to be in Dallas opening weekend of this tour so of course I geeked out and took hundreds of photos...

If you aren't familiar with the history of the Kips Bay Decorator Show House -- it started in New York City in 1973 as a fundraiser to support after school programs for children in the city.  It now attracts over 20,000 guests a year.  Hundreds of interior designers submit applications and less than 30 are selected.  The ones that are selected are each assigned one room in the home -- could be a hallway, powder bath, or kitchen! 

Designers invest up to $100,000 to put on the show and partner with vendors, contractors, and artists to complete their vision in 10 weeks.  Basically a luxury "Trading Spaces" on steroids!

Most rooms were represented by their designer on Saturday morning when I visited (translation: I tried to play it cool meeting Mark D. Sikes and I met a few designers that I will now actively fan girl forever...)

The home is approximately 12,000 sq ft and lists upwards of $5 million!  Twenty six designers and 26 completely different design perspectives...I wish I could share every single inch of this incredible project!

With only 45 minutes to tour before my flight home -- here are the rooms I spent the most time in!  Organized by location in the home...

The Foyer by Rottet Studio The 20' ceilings, romantic curved staircase and oversize hair-on-hide floral rugs were definitely a "welcome to Dallas" entrance! Adored the brass chandelier and water feature (not pictured).

A Lady's Study by Jan Showers Glossy, feminine, and sweet -- the lacquered trim work paired with a white hair on hide rug (custom bunted around the fireplace) was such a happy, peaceful room off the foyer.

Formal Dining by Cathy Kincaid Interiors Cathy Kincaid Interiors had me at vintage wool rugs layered on a grand sisal rug! The detailed trim work was impeccable and she is a master at layering tonal patterns in a fresh way!

I could go on and on about this space ... decorative shelving in the island, beautiful iron stools, incredible drapery installation, beautiful stone fireplace with veining...

Huge jute rug that spanned the entire room with two floating one-of-a-kind rugs -- my weakness!!! It was so refreshing to see a sofa in a dramatic color -- the original art was so well curated

Thought it couldn't get any better than that kitchen but then I walked into the adjacent room designed by Viviano - Viviano.  Huge jute rug that spanned the entire room with two floating one-of-a-kind rugs -- my weakness!!!  It was so refreshing to see a sofa in a dramatic color -- the original art was so well curated -- and there were pieces throughout the entire space.  You could tell it was a thoughtful blend of old and new furniture.  Colors were unexpected and just felt sooo cool.
